Welcome to stirlingcnd.org
Nuclear weapons 'defence' costs Britain £1.5 billion every year. The weapons are based at the
Faslane nuclear submarine base near Helensburgh. Stirling CND (Campaign for Nuclear
Disarmament) believes that most people
in the area would prefer:
. The removal of weapons of mass destruction
from Britain.
. Peaceful, negotiated settlement of international disputes.
. to invest the £1.5bn in public services, the environment and the
economy. What do
we do?
We are involved in peace movement events locally and across Scotland
and visit and support
women peace activists on remand or convicted in Cornton Vale prison. We demonstrate our
opposition to the nuclear missile
convoys passing Stirling en route from Aldermaston to Coulport.
Whatever your readiness for active commitment, you are most welcome to attend the next meeting.
