About StirlingCND
What do we do at Stirling CND?
- We campaign to disarm and remove weapons of mass destruction from Scotland and we support actions to disarm and remove such weapons from other parts of the world.
- From time to time we have a presence in Stirling town centre (usually outside the Thistle Centre Costa Coffee entrance) when we hand out leaflets, ask people to sign petitions, and engage people in conversation.
- We support women on remand or convicted in Cornton Vale Women’s Prison in Stirling for reasons related to the peace movement.
- We demonstrate against the convoys of trucks carrying nuclear warheads which are transported past Stirling on a regular basis. If you would like to be alerted to the passing of convoys and the opportunity to demonstrate against them, contact David on 07876 593016.
- Members meet on a monthly basis to discuss and respond to international, national and local events. If you would like to join see join us. The Jeely Peace Café, run by Stirling CND members, offers sustenance to people attending peace demonstrations. Most famously, we set up at the Faslane nuclear submarine base in all weathers to ensure that the many protestors who join blockades will find a hot drink and something to eat. All our supplies are donated by members and friends who bake or make sweets and savouries to suit all tastes: vegan, veggie and meat eaters. Just make sure your contributions are labeled!
